Tune in before you tune out.
The O’Brien Show, hosted by Matt and Tim, will make its debut on WDSR this Monday (March 29th) from 9-10 p.m.
At the top of the agenda will be to discuss the subject of much debate the past few month, health care. In future broadcasts will focus on many areas of civil discourse and current events, both domestically and internationally.
Additionally, music from the up and coming band Yesterday will be featured throughout the show!
So…tune in before you tune out Mondays from 9-10, it’s The O’Brien Show.

Two hard blows to Memphis music
It has been a week since Alex Chilton (Big Star, Box Tops) died, and along with the deceased Jay Lindsey (aka Jay Reatard) , it has been a hard time of recent for Memphis rockers. Jay always seemed a bit like Alex.
They both started in the music business as teenagers, although Chilton had a #1 hit to his name at the age of 16. But Chilton was a lifer, and at the age of 59, he was still doing Big Star reunion shows. The same could be said of Lindsey if you were to read the tea leaves and look down the road.
And with the release of the Big Star box set Look to the Sky, there is still plenty of Chilton to digest. The same could be said of Lindsey who was a single producing machine. There is no doubt dozens, maybe hundreds of Jay Reatard songs waiting to be released. We can only hope it won’t take 30 years to finally hear them.
So listen Thursday night from 10 p.m. to midnite, Alex Chilton and Jay Reatard will sprinkled throughout.
All the best,
Matt Noonan
In-Studio interview with Christopher Bell
Musician Christopher Bell will be gracing us with his presence again this Monday, March 1 with an in-studio interview and perhaps a performance if we’re lucky. Tune into WDSR at 2pm Monday to hear what transpires.
Christopher stopped by WDSR last time he was in town last fall.
March 1st, he’ll be playing the Shadow Lounge here in Pittsburgh with Lucas Carpenter.

The Matt and Matt Show’s A10 Hoops Blowout!
’sup all you crazy cats and chicks out there?
A-10 Hoops is upon us and Stanz and I are getting pumped up for the start of the regular season. Tomorrow we’ll chat with Temple News sportswriter Kyle Gauss about the upcoming season, how the conference shakes out, and how the defending champion Owls will recover without the presence (and easy marketing slogans) of the recently-graduated Dionte Christmas.
We’ll also talk with Duquesne Duke sports editor Steve Orbanek about the Dukes roster, how the young team will handle the loss of senior and leading scorer Aaron Jackson, how the Lady Dukes will build upon last season’s successes, and this year’s big DU-Pitt game at Mellon Arena.
All this plus our regular nonsense (Stanczak got on the local news!) and more on tomorrow’s episode of The Matt and Matt Show. Tune in from 7-9 by going to www.wdsr.org and using the “Shout Stream.”
Peace f00ls

Brittany chats with Strike Anywhere tomorrow night
Hey guys,
I’ll be talking to Strike Anywhere tomorrow night at their show at Altar Bar. Also, tentatively arranging an interview with Polar Bear Club, Ruiner, and/or Crimes in Stereo.
How many interviews can Brittany tackle at one show? I guess we’ll find out.
Expect the interviews to air next week. Likely during my show, Alternative to the Alternative, on Thursday the 15th at 8PM.
Keep listening,
Brittany Brashear
